  • Be prepared to provide a written job description, consisting of:
    • internship jobs/duties
    • schedule

  • Submit the internship opening via our new Online Community’s Career Center.
  • Complete required surveys issued by The Presidents’ Council within 48 business hours; and attend check-ins as established.

How do the grant funds work?

Grantee businesses will be provided with grant funds to cover all internship-related costs. This includes an intern’s hourly wage and payroll expenses detailed here:

  • $15 per hour at 25 hours per week for 8-10 weeks
  • +$1,000 for payroll expenses

Before any grant funds are disbursed, host businesses must sign a grant award agreement issued by The Presidents’ Council.

How do I establish a schedule with my intern(s)?

All schedules will be decided in conjunction with you and your intern(s). The only schedule requirements include:

  1. 8-10 weeks long
  2. 25 hours per week
  3. Monday – Friday

In order to confirm that internship requirements and guidelines are being met, The Presidents’ Council will request weekly timesheets from all host businesses.

Internships should begin no later than June 6th, 2022.

How much money will I make as an intern?

Thanks to the generosity of our funders, all participating interns will fulfill their internship duties for an hourly wage of $15 per hour.

Interns will receive payment directly from the business with which they are interning. Frequency of payment (weekly, biweekly, or monthly) is dependent on said business’s established payroll schedule, and does not impact total compensation.

Interns must have the required documents for work eligibility (social security card, birth certificate, bank account for payroll). Like any other job, all necessary state, local, or federal taxes will be automatically deducted from your paycheck.

What will my intern/work schedule look like?

Your schedule will depend on you and the business that you agree to intern with! The only schedule requirements include:

  1. 8-10 weeks long
  2. 25 hours per week
  3. Monday – Friday

Please note that your agreed upon schedule will be outlined in your signed offer letter provided by the business. The Presidents’ Council will conduct periodic check-ins to ensure that you are working the established number of hours, receiving payment, and to collect weekly timesheets from the business owner.
