How did you get into this field?

After working many years in the Accounting field, I decided to start my own business to assist businesses with their finances and tax. All too often our small businesses fail due to lack of resources and professional direction.

What is your favorite part about your job?

I love seeing the reaction of my clients when they receive their new documents. It gives them confidence when applying to new roles.

What is the most challenging part about your job?

The most challenging part of my job is scaling my business to market to professionals in different industries across the country. I believe more awareness of The Professional Plug will impact many people who are interested in elevating their career.

Why did you decide to become a PCBC member?

I became a member to expand my network and connect with black professionals and business owners in Cleveland.

What challenges do you face as an African American business professional?

It is hard doing everything by yourself. I have considered outsourcing work such as graphic design and social media content so I can focus on the work.

What are your goals for your business and how do you see PC being part of that process?

My goals for The Professional Plug would be to create digital products for professionals who need help with salary negotiation, brag sheet (accomplishments), and communicating news (i.e. resignation letter). Also, I want to hold workshops for professionals on maximizing their resume, networking on LinkedIn, and career development resources. PC would be helpful in allowing me to help people acquire these skills to obtain career opportunities that pay them their worth.
