How did you get into this field?
FocusCFO is an encore career for a group of former executives with considerable business experience and acumen and a passion and desire to help small and medium sized businesses thrive and create transferable value.
What is your favorite part about your job?
Helping businesses create economic vitality for communities and transferable wealth for business owners and/or their employees.
What is the most challenging part about your job?
1. Communicating what a CFO does for a business. We are not an accountant or a controller of your business.
2. Business owners whom we know we can help but do not accept help, either they don’t think they need help or are unwilling to accept help.
Why did you decide to become a PCBC member?
To co-mingle my business network with the business community of The Presidents’ Council.
What challenges do you face as an African American business professional?
Finding businesses who are interested in accepting help from us.
What are your goals for your business and how do you see PC being part of that process?
Goal 1. Make sure The Presidents’ Council small and medium sized business owner members know that we’re a resource for them.
Goal 2. Make sure The Presidents’ Council members who are former business executives know that we’re a potential encore career for them.
