CLEVELAND, March 28, 2018 – With supporting, developing and advocating always at the core of our organization, The Presidents’ Council is proud to present Areva Martin as the Keynote Speaker for our 2018 Annual Meeting. This year’s Annual Meeting, held at the St. Clair Ballroom at Key Center will focus on celebrating the accomplishments of the organization’s 22 years of removing barriers to inclusion. This year’s theme for Annual Meeting is Courageous Conversations: The Courage to Lead. CNN analyst Areva Martin’s ability to share her expertise in utilizing the media to help businesses scale up will encourage business leaders in attendance to initiate more courageous conversations about pressing societal issues on a regular basis.

Executive Director of The Presidents’ Council, Erica C. Penick could not be more pleased about Areva Martin’s willingness to serve as the keynote speaker. “It is important we work toward a more perfect union and to do so it demands courageous conversations and leaders willing to serve, sacrifice, and suffer when necessary. Areva’s track record for advocating on behalf of minority business owners is nothing less than inspiring, which makes her the perfect person to deliver our keynote address.” Penick said.

As an accomplished, highly respected African-American business owner, attendees will benefit from hearing Areva’s perspective on how African-American business owners can best position themselves for success during the political and economic turbulence of today. Areva’s appearance and speech at Annual Meeting will provide business owners with guidance as to how they can use their platforms and leadership roles to draw attention to their businesses and promote their brands. Most importantly, attendees will learn how to do this while continuing courageous conversations about social issues, that directly impact on African-American businesses and the communities which we serve.

The night will also consist of networking and refreshments following registration at 5:30pm. Individuals & businesses are encouraged to become sponsors of Annual Meeting. Sponsorships include the opportunity to advertise at the event, complimentary drink tickets and a pre-event VIP reception entry that offers the opportunity to meet Areva one-on-one.
